so the dr’s office called yesterday morning and switched my appointment to today because he wasn’t going to be in to the office afterall! very frustrating, but trying to be sensitive since it may have been a family emergency or something like that. but anyway, i went in to the hospital yesterday afternoon for my 2nd round of tests. they said she is very scrunched in there and was playing with her toes!! but the results were normal and healthy. and, they set a date for induction!! i’m supposed to be at the hospital at 7am on thursday. i asked why in the world he would want to work on a holiday, and the nurse said they are actually completely booked the next 2 days so this is our only option. poor guy. i still have my appointment today, but i doubt anything will change. unless jane decides to help her mommy and daddy out with a tax deduction and come out on her own!

my mom was supposed to fly home on thursday morning, but we found a ticket with airtran on sunday for $50!!! so we went ahead and changed her ticket so at least someone in my family will get to see baby jane!! well worth the money. plus that’s when my stepdaughter leaves, too, so it saves us a trip to baltimore since they're both flying out of the same airport within an hour of each other.

today i'm thankful that scrunched little baby is healthy still

41 weeks today. no baby. papa and uncle jordan have to leave at noon today to drive back to ohio. MAJOR bummer.

but our little blondie is here! mcfly and papa went and picked her up at the baltimore airport friday afternoon. she was very excited to see my giant tummy and her new room, and even more excited to commence with the gift giving!! so we let her dig right in… she gave us a little outfit for jane, her first ornament, and a very pretty glass picture frame. very thoughtful of her (and her mom!). then we let her open the presents from our side of the family and us - lots of books, a “big sister” t-shirt, decor for her newly decorated room, an outfit, a collapsible scooter and matching bike helmet…

not much planned for this week. mcfly has to go to work for a bit in the morning and also on new year’s eve. i have another dr’s appointment (and probably more tests) tomorrow. nana is looking forward to lots of time with at least one granddaughter before she has to fly back to ohio on thursday. and my stepdaughter is, well, anxiously awaiting official sisterhood and attempting to read ALL her new books before she flies home on the 4th!!

but will he bring me a baby tomorrow?! who knows, maybe jane will be one of the 5% of babies actually born on their due date. i think i was born on my due date. i have certainly been doing my part at inducing labor though… daily walks, eating black beans, “other things” cough cough. and as a result of the wonderful insomnia that has hit again this week, i have almost gone into labor twice just from unexplainable and hilarious laughing fits with my mom. seriously, there were actually tears involved!

one of the pros of baby being stubborn, however, is that mom and i are getting a lot done! living room curtains are done and just waiting to be hung. stepdaughter’s curtains are done. pictures are hung up in her room. all but 1 christmas present is done. house cleaned. laundry done. grocery shopping is done. baking for neighbors and friends is done. baking for us is partway done (we made cutout cookies today, so just puppy chow and gingerbread men are left). presents are almost all wrapped. smittens are done and hanging by the fire with care in hope that JANE will soon be here. we’re almost out of projects already!

oh well, i’m sure we’ll stay busy… church tomorrow morning, chinese for lunch, probably another walk and more christmas baking. then monday i have the tests at the hospital in the afternoon and a baby shower for a friend after supper. tuesday is hopefully my last dr’s appointment! and my dad and brother will be driving out after work. wednesday we’re having one or two families over for christmas eve dinner and then possibly a candlelight service at church afterwards. thursday is christmas. friday we get my stepdaughter! and that’s as far as i have planned. :O)

ok i’m taking a benadryl now and going to bed in hopes of a full night’s sleep for once… today i'm thankful for a wonderful day at home with my hubby and mommy and doggie
